Purpose
The Chic-a-zebo is an eight-sided chicken coop with a screened outside run area. Thanks to its innovative design, chicken owners can rotate the screen every day around each side of the coop. This provides a fresh secure grazing space for your chickens and prevents bare patches from forming. Thanks to the lightweight frame design and the attached wheels, moving the screen to a new spot each day could not be easier.
The Problem
Chickens are fun to watch as they scratch around the backyard. But all that scratching, however, can create unsightly bare patches on the lawn.
The Solution
But now there’s the Chic-a-zebo!

Story Behind the Invention
Inventors Karen A. Nale and Doyle E. James of Hawesville, KY have created an eight-sided chicken coop with a screened outside run area.
Normally, chicken houses have one area for chickens to go outside. However, due to their constant pecking and scratching, the area quickly becomes bare. Chicken manure is also very strong. If the birds are given continuous access to the outside area, it is void of all growth. Karen and Doyle just knew there had to be a better way. In turn, they were inspired to develop the Chic-a-zebo!
Thanks to this innovative new design, chicken owners can rotate the screen every day around each side of the coop. This provides a fresh secure grazing space for your chickens and prevents bare patches from forming. Thanks to the lightweight frame design and the attached wheels, moving the screen to a new spot each day could not be easier. There has been a lot of advertising of “cage-free” and “free-range.” This system provides both for the birds.
